I’m so honored to be representing Queen Isabel in this years 2007 Festa do Espirito Santo. This is truly a dream come true for me. Since I was young I have participated in the parade and always felt proud of my Portuguese heritage. Over the years I learned more about my religion and my Portuguese heritage. My dream is to one day visit Portugal. Being a part of the Festa taught me how the community comes together. Without this wonderful community this 97 year old tradition would not be held.
When I was 12 years old, I was a weekly queen and I remember the feeling I had when I was blessed by the Holy Spirit. I truly believe the Holy Spirit has guided me and will continue to. As you know this Festa is in memory of my grandparents, I know they are spiritually here and are beaming with pride. I look forward to working with my family and the Portuguese community in making this years 2007 festa a big success. May the Holy Spirit bless you.
